Sounds & Sights Festival is an annual summer weekend event in historic Chelsea, Michigan. The event started over three decades ago and is a highlight of summer that draws visitors from all over the state and beyond. The two-day, three-night festival features live music and social tent, indie art market, kids’ entertainment and activities, a classic car show, and much more. Each year features exciting changes and annual favorites that keep people coming back again and again. All performances and activities are held  in downtown Chelsea, Michigan.

Thursday, July 24th*

  • Sounds & Sights music throughout downtown from 6:30-8:30pm
  • Social Tent opens at 6pm, live music from 7-11pm, $5 cover
    • Chelsea Spotlight: Ben Daniels Band, Lottie and the Manatee, Jake Prince Trio
  • Food court open on W. Middle Street (5pm-10pm)
  • SRSLY Cinema movie at dusk, Clocktower lawn: Hotel for Dogs (PG)

Friday, July 25th*

  • Art Market and demonstrations (Noon-8pm)
  • Merchant activities and events
  • Food Court on W. Middle Street (5-10pm)
  • KidZone at Clocktower complex (10am-3pm), activities, entertainment and more!
  • Classic Car Show down Middle, East, Harrison streets (3-8pm)
  • Congregational Church chicken broil on Middle Street (5pm – until sold out)
  • Social Tent opens at 6pm, live music from 7-11pm, $5 Cover
    • Country Night: Whitey Morgan and the 78′s, Bill Bynum & Co.

Saturday, July 26th*

  • Chelsea Farmers Market (8am-Noon) @ Palmer Lot
    • Eat Better Market Demonstration – Fruit Reboot:  Chelsea Community Hospital nurses will demonstrate blood sugar testing and healthy shopping tips at the farmers market, while Chelsea Community Kitchen  demonstrates low-sugar fruit desserts using market ingredients.
  • Merchant activities and events
  • Art Market and demonstrations (Noon-8pm)
  • Food court on W. Middle Street (Noon-10pm)
  • Pet Parade at the Train Depot (10-11am)
  • Chelsea Area Historical Society guided walking tour (1pm) at Chelsea Depot. Wear comfortable shoes and plan for two hours. Suggested donation of $5 for non-members.
  • Chalk Art demonstrations & community chalk quilt on E. Middle Street (8am-4pm)
  • KidZone at Clocktower complex (10am-3pm), activities, entertainment and more!
  • Chelsea Monitor Baseball Club vs. Royal Oak, Timbertown Park on Sibley Rd., at 2pm
  • Social Tent opens at 1pm, live music from 1-5pm
  • Social Tent reopens at 6pm, live music from 7-11pm, $5 cover
    • Dance Party: Mega 80′s, Joe Cocker Tribute Band
