THE APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS PASSED. 

Auditions are held in the spring of each year, and are open to musicians, singer/song-writers, jugglers, magicians, performers, dance troupes, artists, and other street arts performers. Performers are judged before a panel of local artists, committee members and merchants. Performers are paid, a priority for organizers who all feel that artists should always be compensated for their work.

5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

PERFORMANCE DATES: Thursday evenings from June 5 to August 14, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Performances take place outdoors in downtown Chelsea, Michigan.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

There are approximately 100 paying spots available on the schedule. Auditions are open to musicians, singer/songwriters, jugglers, magicians, dance troupes, artists, and other street performers

Interested parties should fill out the online application and reserve a time slot.  Those auditioning will then have 3-5 minutes to perform at one of four stages before a panel of judges made up of local musicians, committee members, merchants and maybe a few celebrities.

Performers should bring any necessary equipment with which they would normally perform. There are 30-40 audition slots available on a first come basis. Those that cannot make the audition or are not able to secure a time slot should still fill out the application online and send in a CD, demo, or email a link to an audio demo. There is no charge to audition.

Selected performers will be contacted to schedule performance dates during the Sounds and Sights season based on availability.
