Chelsea's Annual Holiday Light Parade

Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 | 6pm start

250_HTH_paradeThe Annual Holiday Light Parade takes place on Saturday evening during Hometown Holiday weekend, and has the town glowing with the spirit of the season. We invite you, your friends, acquaintances, neighbors, family, etc., to join in the parade this year.

If you are interested in participating in this year's Light Parade, please contact us. All parade entries (floats, walkers, cars, etc.) are asked to comply with the rules and regulations.

“Presents With a Presence” Organized by the Chelsea Area Girl Scouts  

Chamber Businesses can advertise on a walking decorated “Present” that is walked by a Chelsea Girl Scout volunteer in the Lighted Parade!  Your donation will not only support Chelsea Girl Scouts, but a portion will go towards a charity cause like Faith in Action’s Sponsor a Family for Christmas!!
New this year is an online signup at:
Two options for businesses:
  • Business decorates box:   $25 donation to the troop.   If the business needs a blank box, the Chamber of Commerce will supply or the business can supply, but must not be any bigger than 3 feet square, must be lighted, holes for arms and head (try it out first). Business can pick up the blank box from the Chamber of Commerce.  Troop will pick up and walk the decorated box
  • Troop decorates box:  $75 donation to the troop.  Troop will decorate. Troops buys lights, batteries and supplies (unless business wants to donate supplies also).  Business can supply business Logo.  Troop will pick up blank box from Chamber.


November 21 deadline - spots are limited so please sign up early to have the best chance of being matched with a Girl Scout volunteer!


Parade Staging Area - We ask all participants to be at the staging area (Chelsea State Bank – Main Branch) no later than 4:30pm on the day of the parade. The parade will start at 6:00 pm and travel down Main Street (M-52) until it reaches Jackson Street. There will be someone there to direct you as to where to park your floats, etc.  The parade will not cross the railroad tracks.

Giving Back to Our Community

The Hometown Holiday Committee encourages everyone to donate a new, unwrapped toy to one of the local "Toys for Tots & Teens" locations in Chelsea. These gifts will be distributed by Faith In Action to Chelsea area families in need.

Please note that we will not be collecting canned goods during the parade this year. You may make food donations at the Global Marketplace, 115 W.
