Opening Night! June 8th Sounds & Sights



CHELSEA, MICH – Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights, presented by Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Chelsea, kicks off its free summer concert series Thursday, June 8th from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Professional artists perform at eleven staged areas located throughout downtown Chelsea featuring music, dance, comedy, and family entertainment.

Celebrating its 13th season, Sounds & Sights showcases the talents of crowd favorites like Escaping Pavement, Chelsea House Orchestra, and The Blue Rays as well as welcomes new performances by Chey Halliwill, Last Gasp Collective, Five Miles More and Amy Grace.

There is something for the whole family including Colors the Clown’s magic show and balloon animals created by 3 Generations Twisters. The laughs continue on the Library lawn at Katie’s Korner where Chelsea District Library hosts their annual Comedy Showcase.

Chelsea Chalk Art returns with free “How to Draw” seminars each week beneath the Clocktower. The inaugural theme this summer is “Magical World of Harry Potter”.

In addition to the live entertainment, visitors are invited to the unveiling of a community art collaborative, Chelsea Portrait Project, which will be displayed on the “Mack” building located at 110 Jackson Street throughout the summer. Students from the Young Adult Program and of Independence Hall at Chelsea High School, along with their artist mentors will be onsite to talk about the project process. The Wasthenaw ISD Young Adult Program will host an open house in their classrooms located in the lower level of the Sylvan building, which is located next to the Mack building.
